CHAPTER 135.

OF INFECTIOUS DISEASES.

AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 240, VOLUME 21, LAWS OF DELAWARE, ENTITLED AN ACT TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF DISEASE AND TO ESTABLISH A PATHOLOGICAL AND BACTERIOLOGICAL LABORATORY FOR SUCH PURPOSES AT DELAWARE COLLEGE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met:

Section 1. That Section 3 of Chapter 240, Volume 21, Laws of Delaware, entitled An Act to prevent the spread of disease and to establish a Pathological and Bacteriological Laboratory for such purposes at Delaware College, be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto the following: "Provided, however, that this shall not be so construed as to interrupt or limit the power in the full control and management of the Laboratory of the State Board of Health."

Section 2. That the Chapter aforesaid be further amended in the sixth Section thereof, by striking out all between the word "sum" in the first line and the word "and" in the third line thereof, and inserting in lieu thereof the words "of $2500 annually shall be appropriated for the salary of the Bacteriologist and all the other expenses of the said Laboratory."

Section 3. That said Chapter 240, Volume 21, Laws of Delaware, be and the same is hereby further amended by adding to the said Chapter a new Section, as follows to wit:

"Section 8. That it shall be and is hereby made the duty of the said Pathologist and Bacteriologist, whenever requested by the Attorney General, to make any and all examinations of any person or persons, or any organ or organs, or any part or parts of any person or persons, with the view of determining the cause or causes of death and make a prompt report without charge to the State or any County thereof."
