CHAPTER 198

LEGAL HOLIDAY

AN ACT making General Election Day a Legal Holiday for School Purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware, in General Assembly met:

Section I. That every day on which a general election General shall be held in this State, shall be a legal holiday for all holiday for all school purposes, and all schools, colleges and other institutions of learning shall be closed during the whole of such day.

Section 2. Any person having the control of any school, college or other institution of learning who shall cause or permit the same to be open and instruction given on such day shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and on conviction shall be fined not less than Ten Dollars ($10.00) nor more than Penalty One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) in the discretion of the Court.

Section 3. All acts or parts of acts inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.
