AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE TRANSFER OF STATE PROPERTY IN CHRISTIANA HUNDRED TO NEW CASTLE COUNTY.

WHEREAS, by House Bill No. 388 of the 127th General Assembly, also known as Chapter 134, Volume 59, Laws of Delaware, the major portion of the lands which the former New Castle County Correctional Insititute was located was transferred to New Castle County for use as a recreational center for people of the area; and

WHEREAS, this transfer of property did not include the former Warden's Residence which contains in state control; and

WHEREAS, the transfer of the Warden's Residence which has no present state use to New Castle County would increase the usefulness of the lands transferred by House Bill No. 388; and

WHEREAS, the General Assembly believes that the transfer of the Warden's Residence to New Castle County is fitting and proper.

NOW, THEREFORE:

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Delaware:

Section 1. The Department of Administrative Services is hereby authorized and directed to transfer the state-owned property known as the Warden's Residence on lands formerly used by the New Castle County Correctional Institute, in Christiana Hundred, to New Castle County for the nominal sum of one dollar ($1.00).

Section 2. If at anytime this property should no longer be used by New Castle County primarily for recreational purposes, the said property shall revert to the State of Delaware.
