AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 21, TITLE 21 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO IMPOSING FEES FOR LATE RENEWALS OF VEHICLE REGISTRATION FEES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:
Section 1. Amend Section 2151, Chapter 21, Title 21 of the Delaware Code by adding a new paragraph (6) to read as follows:
"(6) A fee of $2.00, in addition to the registration fee, shall be imposed at the time of renewal of registration, if the Delaware registration has expired. This fee shall not be imposed if the registration has expired over 12 months or if a permit has been purchased for the vehicle pursuant to Section 2103. The fee shall not be imposed if a transfer of ownership on the vehicle has taken place."
