AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 11 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO THE COMPENSATION OF THE BOARD OF PAROLE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE :
WHEREAS, members of the Board of Parole have not received a per diem increase since July 22, 1994; and
WHEREAS, Board members’ per diem covers, at minimum, a full day of hearings and one day for per-hearing preparation; and
WHEREAS, because of the increase in intensity of cases and increased participation of victims, as a result of the Victims’ Bill of Rights, hearing days and pre-hearing preparation time have lengthened; and
WHEREAS, the fiscal impact of increasing the per diem compensation received by Board members is not so great as to warrant delaying such an increase any longer;
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:
Section 1. Amend §4344(a), Title 11 of the Delaware Code, by striking the figure “$110” as it appears in the first sentence thereof, and substituting in lieu thereof the figure “$300”.
