AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 21 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO THE REGISTRATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE
:
Section 1. Amend § 2118(l) of Title 21 of the Delaware Code by deleting the second through fifth sentences thereof in their entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
“All insurers shall send to the Division of Motor Vehicles notice, in written or electronic form per the direction of the Division, of any cancellations or terminations of private passenger automobile insurance under § 3904(a)(1) of Title 18 of the Delaware Code for any private passenger automobile policies which are final and occur within the first six (6) months after such policies are issued. The Insurance Commissioner may further change the timeframe for notification by regulation.”.
Ssection 2. This Act shall be effective regarding any applicable cancellation or termination of private passenger automobile insurance on or after January 1, 2008.
