AN ACT TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LEWES, CHAPTER 170, VOLUME 57, LAWS OF DELAWARE, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "AN ACT TO REINCORPORATE THE CITY OF LEWES", RELATING TO THE COLLECTION OF ANNUAL TAXES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE (Two-thirds of all members elected to each house thereof concurring therein):
WHEREAS, the Lewes City Council has reviewed the fees schedule and structure; and
WHEREAS, the Lewes City Council deems it in the best interest of the City to increase the amount of interest added monthly to delinquent taxes.
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE (Two-thirds of all members elected to each house thereof concurring therein):
Section 1. The Charter of the City of Lewes, Chapter 170, Volume 57, Laws of Delaware, as amended, Section 28., subsection (e), be and is hereby amended by striking the phrase “one percent (1%)” and substituting in lieu thereof the phrase “one and one-half percent (1 ½%)”.
