AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 25 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO RETALIATORY ACTS. |
Section 1. Amend §5516(b), Title 25 of the Delaware Code by redesignating the existing paragraph (4) thereof as new paragraph (5), and by inserting a new paragraph (4) to read as follows:
“The tenant, as a victim of domestic abuse, sexual offenses, or stalking, has obtained or has sought assistance for domestic abuse, sexual offenses, or stalking, from any court, police agency, or domestic violence or sexual assault program or service; or”.
SYNOPSIS
This Bill amends the Delaware Landlord-Tenant Code by ensuring that tenants who are domestic violence, sexual offense or stalking victims are protected from eviction when they seek services relating to their status as a victim. |
