SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 42 |
URGING THE |
WHEREAS,
Mayor Baker and the City of
WHEREAS, the issue of sidewalk responsibility has long been debated without resolution; and
WHEREAS,
the City of
WHEREAS, in recognizing the public safety issue for pedestrians in the City of Wilmington represented by sidewalks, many members of the State Legislature have contributed millions of dollars for the repairs and replacements of thousands of square feet of city sidewalk over the last twenty years; and
WHEREAS,
with this generous support new sidewalks have been constructed for many
homeowners in the City of
WHEREAS, a City-supported sidewalk fund would go a long way towards maintaining the sidewalks which pedestrians use and depend on everyday; and
WHEREAS,
the mayor’s proposed emergency sidewalk fund reflects a new policy commitment
from the City of
NOW THEREFORE:
BE
IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the 144th General Assembly of the State
of

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that suitably prepared copies of this resolution be
delivered to the Mayor of the City of
SYNOPSIS
This concurrent
resolution supports Mayor Baker’s proposal for the creation of a emergency
sidewalk fund, which would be used to replace and repair neglected sidewalks
in the City of |
