SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 3

TO

HOUSE BILL NO. 245

AMEND House Bill No. 245, as amended by House Amendment No. 1 and House Amendment No. 4, by deleting lines 1 and 2 of House Amendment No. 1 in their entirety.

FURTHER AMEND House Bill No. 245, as amended, by deleting line 5 in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

“of the United States of the next federal decennial census. After the official reporting ”.

FURTHER AMEND House Bill No. 245, as amended, on line 7 by deleting “shall , not later than June 30, 2021, ” and inserting in lieu thereof “shall, not later than June 30, 2021, not later than October 15, 2021, ”.

SYNOPSIS

The 2020 census data was due to be officially reported by March 31, but has been delayed this year. If there had been no delay, the General Assembly would have had a June 30, 2021, deadline to act. This Amendment requires the General Assembly to complete the redistricting process by October 15, 2021.
